Luna’s English Cream Goldendoodle Puppies are Here!

English Goldendoodle Puppies going to Redmond, Prineville Oregon

It seems only fitting.

Throughout Friday and Saturday night, Luna delivered her “Moon” litter of nine beautiful standard Goldendoodle puppies! There was a little bit of drama to Luna’s delivery, which was a little bit of a change of pace from many of our smooth labors. Luna’s litter joining our Goldendoodle puppy party, along with Rosie’s Flower mini Goldendoodle litter and Honey’s Narnia medium Goldendoodle litter. With all of these Goldendoodle puppies combined, we’re currently raising twenty seven little furry bundles of Goldendoodle joy.

Luna’s first puppy was delivered the afternoon of April 20th. Since most of litters - including Luna’s last goldendoodle litter - arrived fairly quick, we thought that we would have an afternoon/evening litter. We definitely didn’t mind this, because many of our litters have been born on late nights and early mornings. However, we became aware that we needed to shift our hopes with this goldendoodle litter, because there were significant gaps between all of the puppies. Most of our gaps between puppy deliveries is around 20-30 minutes.

With Luna’s litter, she had hour-long gaps between her first three puppies. This was nothing compared to the next gap which was almost FOUR HOURS! Luna seemed quite relaxed during this long pause, which tempered our nerves. So we called our vet to see if it was wise to bring her in for emergency procedures. He gave us a couple suggested procedures and positions to help initiate contractions, and after some effort, it ended up working! She ended up delivering her final six puppies in the wee morning hours of April 21st.

All of the puppies - three girls and six boys - are healthy and thriving at this point. We’re continuing the celestial theme of Luna’s litters, so these goldendoodle puppies are all named after moons: Ariel, Oberon, Portia, Titan, Archie, Callisto, Dione, Atlas, and Elara. Right now, Luna and her litter are resting, feeding, and resting more.

Luna’s litter joins Honey and Rosie’s litters. This week, Rosie’s Flower litter turned four weeks old. This is one of our favorite ages, as we begin to see their personalities as they become more playful and mobile. We’ve introduced potty pads, puppy mush, and water to their crate. They’ve also had their first couple sessions outside, and all the neighborhood kids are thrilled about it! This litter will have our furthest puppy deliveries to date, with one of the puppies heading to Austin, Texas!

Honey’s Narnia Litter turned three weeks old. They are just becoming more vocal and mobile; they’ll frequently notice when someone enters or exits the room, and will respond to petting and stimulation. We’re introducing different sounds and volumes at this age, along with continuing a variety of handling practices.

We’re also awaiting some testing results to see which puppy we’ll keep for our program from both Honey and Rosie’s litters. These will hopefully become future moms for our next generation of Goldendoodle puppies, as long as they pass their health screening.

While many people are surprised by us raising twenty-seven puppies, it feels like we’ve caught a rhythm. The Comers are doing a fabulous job at taking care of both Luna and Rosie’s litters, and we are pouring our love on Honey’s litter. There are so many opportunities to learn and grow from litter to litter. There are still quite a few growing pains as we navigate new issues and dynamics, but it’s also been a tremendous confidence builder in our program, and our people. We look forward to seeing these little puppies continue to flourish, and diligently pursue this ideal with love, wisdom, and optimism.

Thanks for journeying with us on this adventure; we appreciate you!

Warmly,

Erin and Jay
