BERNEDOODLE BREEDER — SAN FRANCISCO, CA
Bernedoodle Puppies for San Francisco & the Bay Area
San Francisco has a dog culture unlike any other city in America. The parks, the off-leash areas at Crissy Field and Fort Funston, the welcoming attitude toward dogs in restaurants and shops — it's a city that's practically designed for a well-bred, well-socialized bernedoodle. Their low-shedding coats are a natural fit for the apartment and condo living that defines much of SF, and their warm, loyal temperament draws exactly the kind of attention that SF dog owners love to give.
High Desert Family Doodles is based in Madras, Oregon, and we are the only bernedoodle breeder on the West Coast with both a GANA Gold Level and a Good Dog certification, raising every puppy in our home on the Puppy Culture and BadAss Breeder curriculum. We fly bernedoodle puppies into San Francisco International (SFO) or Oakland International (OAK). San Francisco families should also see our San Francisco goldendoodle page if you're considering both breeds. View our available litters.
Health testing with real accountability
There is no bernedoodle breed club — which means health testing claims in this breed are largely self-reported. In a market as discerning as the Bay Area, that's worth knowing. We've chosen to hold ourselves to the verified standards of GANA and Good Dog instead. Our bernedoodle parents pass OFA hip, elbow, patella, cardiac, and eye clearances plus full genetic panels before entering our program. Read about our parent dogs and health testing here. Every puppy comes with a two-year written health guarantee. Mini, medium, and standard bernedoodles available.
How We Raise Our Puppies for San Francisco
San Francisco is one of the most stimulating and socially rich environments a dog can grow up in. We raise our puppies inside our family home in Madras from birth, beginning Early Neurological Stimulation and Early Scent Introduction in the first days of life and following the Puppy Culture and BadAss Breeder curriculum throughout. The goal is a puppy who arrives in SF already equipped for its energy — confident on a crowded sidewalk, calm in a quiet apartment.

Frequently asked questions
Q: Do you fly into SFO or OAK?
A: Both — we'll fly into whichever airport is most convenient for your SF neighborhood or commute. Just let us know your preference when you apply.
Q: Do you also have goldendoodles for SF families?
A: Yes — see our San Francisco goldendoodle page. If you're open to either breed, let us know and we'll match you with whichever litter is available first.
Q: What bernedoodle sizes work well in SF apartments?
A: Mini (15–35 lbs) are our most popular size for SF condo and apartment living. Medium (35–50 lbs) and standard (50–80 lbs) work well in larger homes and the more spacious neighborhoods.
