The Doodle Days of Summer
The heat has arrived here in central Oregon, and both humans and dogs are trying to figure out what to do with it. As we come closer to the mid point of the summer, we’re also near the mid point of our current litter of Yose x Remi bernedoodle puppies. This beautiful litter of nine bernedoodle puppies continues to win swoon hearts and lick faces! On top of that, we are expecting Winnie’s litter of mini goldendoodle puppies this next week. We have also bred both Klaire and Belle for hopeful miniature bernedoodle and medium bernedoodle puppies this fall! It goes without saying that we are full of doggie joy around here, and we’ve been able to bring another person on staff to help us with all of this fun too!
Here’s a little glimpse into our current life here at High Desert Family Doodles.
Yose’s litter of standard bernedoodle puppies are growing and thriving here in Central Oregon! This litter of nine bernedoodle puppies is quite diverse. There are five females, four males, three merle coats, and two flat coats. Whenever you breed an f2 such as this, there’s a lot of room for variety and diversity, which held true for this litter! All of them currently have homes throughout the greater northwest area, and we love that we can get to know our puppies’ families well in advance. It makes the process much smoother, and adds a ton of beauty to it as well! These Bernedoodle puppies had their vet check this week, and we’ll be doing puppy picks over the weekend!
Meanwhile, we’re on puppy watch with Winnie and her mini Goldendoodle litter. She’s got her Xray this week to give us an idea of how many puppies she’s got in her. In the meantime, she’ll be spending more time with us, and will come stay with us until she’s ready to wean her mini Goldendoodle puppies! This will be Winnie’s last litter, which means that she will be our first female to retire (weepy eyes). She’s been such a great mom, and a pleasure to be around. We are currently planning on keeping back one of these girls to be a future mini Goldendoodle mom for us, as long as she passed her health testing!
We also have Klaire and Belle’s litters on the horizons. We’ll be able to confirm Klaire’s pregnancy here pretty soon, and we still need to wait a couple weeks to check the status of Belle's pregnancy. We’re excited for more of these medium and mini Bernedoodles, and are looking forward to their joyful frivolity. So we have a number of puppies on the horizon, and we’re looking forward to the noise and energy of a litter, and our kids can’t wait either!
While all this adds up to us being quite busy for the next few months, we wouldn’t change it! We continue to be surprised by how much joy this brings to everyone involved, and this makes the long nights and early mornings quite worth it. We’re looking forward to the days of whelping, feeding, shuffling, and maybe even the cleaning too! All of these waitlists are fairly full, so we’ve been able to connect with the future families and keep them posted as the puppies arrive and grow!
